Playground of Sound
Music enrichment for children 0-4
Led by educator and professional pianist/musical director Michael Harren
8-week series April 24 – June 12
Monday Mornings, 9:30 – 10:15 AM

Playground of Sound utilizes Rob Sayer’s renowned “The Music Class” curriculum. Classes are designed to introduce your child to a wide variety of musical tonalities, rhythms, styles and textures during the crucial 0-4 developmental stage. The music itself is distinctly sophisticated, including blues, folk, and world rhythms. Parents, caregivers and children interact with kid-friendly instruments and props such as egg shakers, rhythm sticks, scarves, and bells.

To support continuity of learning, families are provided with materials, music and songbook featuring songs explored in class.

What makes Playground of Sound different from other music classes?
In many music classes, the dynamic is that of performer and audience. The teacher will play an instrument and sing while the children watch. Playground of Sound is centered on learning and doing, offering parents and caregivers an opportunity to connect with their kids in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. Everyone in class is encouraged to jump, crawl, dance and play. Instead of just teaching kids how to be good consumers of music, Playground of Sound gives them the tools and space to create their own.
